The Komi Children's Bible
The Komi Children's Bible, or Stories from the Bible as it is called in the Komi language, was printed at the end of December, 2010. The official presentation took place on March 21, 2011 in the Komi Republic. People from governmental ministries, churches, newspapers, and radio were present.
Already in January the books had been shipped to several villages. Nina Vattuleva, the translator states that adults as well as children have waited expectantly for the book, and now that the book has arrived their joy knew no bounds. "Finally!" they exclaimed when they heard the books were on their way, "We have waited so long!"
The year 2011 has been designated The Year of Children in the Komi Republic. The Children's Bible in their own language, with its beautiful illustrations, is a real miracle from God! Heaven's gift to the Komi people. The book speaks to children and young people, but it communicates just as well to their parents. "This book is a 'handbook' for us adults," said Komi believers. "Our task is to transmit the faith in God and His Word to the next generation. This book is an excellent tool to assist us in this task."
